when producing digital media there are laws to follow some are - - Copyright - equal pay act - Data protection - Breaking label - freedom of press - exploitation - slander Freedom of information act Data protection act Intellectual property act Copy right designs and patents act 1988 Freedom of information act - the public has the right to information that is held by public sector organisations. During the research stage of any media product, such as news industry, access to this data can be requested from many different sources using this act. Intellectual property act - If you have worked to produce a piece of work such as images, script, article or graphic then it is your intellectual property. if someone wants to use it they require your permission. if you produce the work while working for an organisation, you don't own the intellectual property of that item; the organisation you work for does Data protection act - if you collect data about individuals

Getting the right staff - one of the ways to ensure you have the right staff in your team is to audit them. - acting - camera understanding - cinematographer - knowledge of the editing softwares Production designer 1) what does the role of production designer entail ? helps the director to achieve what the movie is off the script making the script into a real life set They take the money and buy the things needed to create this set either go find a place and rent it or build it from scratch the vision they have has to be within the budget 2) during a production, what other members does the production designer co-ordinate with? Director - set designers - set dressers - 3) What issues can occur for a production designer? run out of budget - time can run out as they have a deadline to meet - miscommunication as everyone needs to be in communication for this to work - things can change 4) What skills, eduction, experience and training are beneficial for a production

- Sometimes called concept art - Drawing created by hand or digitally showing what something will look like when created - use to plan for still images or products - can be rough sketch or detailed final design - normally has annotations explaining features that are not clear Possible time constraints - Producing a media product always has a deadline like any project - if not met could lead to failure - timescales work in reverse - within this timescale there are also other time constraints - Location - film set/Tv show - studio recording - equipment - staff like actors and writers - catering and services
